Zombies and workouts

Lately I have been on a little Zombie kick... I know, kind of nerdy, but I am addicted to everything Zombie right now. The Walking Dead, We're Alive podcasts, anything. I am interested in listening to, watching, and reading about if it is Zombie related. So I have incorporated the podcasts into my work out and you can't believe how fast it makes the workout go by when you are listening to a fairly exciting podcast/radio show about life after the apocolypse. Fun stuff. Not much else to report other than we got Nicki off bottles finally. So thats a good thing, one less thing to clutter our countertop. She is growing up way to fast.

As far as working out I had my best week last week in a long time. This week I am planning on making it even better and lose more weight, hopefully 10 lbs by x-mas.

Have a good day!

The Thanksgiving aftermath...

Well I did it, I controlled myself on Thanksgiving. I wasn't food coma full after dinner. Although I did eat quite a bit on Saturday night, but not as much as I normally have, I was really full though. So I ran 1.5 miles and biked 7 miles the following day, so I don't feel as bad as I normally would have. Overall, it was a good weekend though.
We took our baby to see Santa and she had a shitfit when we tried to hand her over to the old guy in the Santa suit. I guessed beforehand that she would do this, but she was shaking and snotting all over the place she was so upset with the situation. Oh well, I guess it is a good thing that our child doesn't like to sit in strange old mens laps.
I plan on running tue thru friday this week, I want to ramp up the days I am running, see if that helps me get faster. ( Any tips would help here if you have any.) I currently run every other day and it keeps me in ok shape, but I need to start melting the pounds away, I am changing my diet and everything so I am hoping this will help. Oh well I know it is a slow process but it is frustrating.
I have to share a funny pic that my frind Vas sent me today at work... I hope you laugh as much as I did when I saw it. I had to walk away from my desk, so I didn't blow snot on stuff trying to hold back the laugh.
I will talk to you soon.

Happy Thanksgiving... early.

So this is the first real "stuff your face" holiday since I began working out last Februrary. I plan on controlling myself this year. I usually eat until I can barely breathe, but this year is going to be different. I want to enjoy what I eat and still feel like I could eat more. I am now also making a better effort to eat better in general. I have had a few bad weeks lately as far as my diet goes. I have to change it. I gained a few pounds back, which I am sure is a combination of working out again and gaining some muscle back, but it also has to do with McDonalds too. Thanks so much Mcdonalds, I know I have a problem with it. I am not addicted to drugs, drinking, or anything else, but I think I have an addiction to Mcdonalds. I love it, when I am buying it, and then when I am eating it I love it even more. But as soon as I am done, I know I shouldn't have done it. I have to just resist it and not eat it. I am trying to challenge myself on how long I can go without eating Mcdonalds, or any fast food. I know it is convienent, and it does taste pretty good, and yeah they do sell "salads" and other healthy stuff, but I will steal a line from a FB post from a few days ago, ordering a salad at McDonalds is like going to a hooker for a hug. Doesn't make a lot of sense.
My baby has her first ever ear infection and it kills me that I can tell she is in some pain, and there is nothing I can really do to help with it other than give her some ibuprofen and hope the antibiotics work for it. Poor baby, other than the little sleep she is getting, she is acting fairly normal and is cheerful as ever. I love to watch her grow and learn things everyday. Just tonight I said the #1 and she said two. It was cute. She is so smart compared to what I was at that age. she is the best thing ever.
And my wife is pretty awesome too. She just knows what to do with Nicki when she isn't feeling well and is the best mom I have ever seen. She never loses her temper with the baby. (It's a different story with me though.) I know I can be annoying a lot and the fact she puts up with me and can stand to be around me as I slowly turn into an old man and get more and more like my Dad. I know I don't tell her that to often but she is the perfect woman for me and I don't have any idea where I would be without her.
Sorry this has turned into a post about my awesome family, but I can't help it, I am in the Thanksgiving mood and they are what I am thankful for.
Have a good and safe holiday everyone.

New Shoes!

Well I got some new runners... K-Swiss Tubes. Love em! They give me a little extra spring in my step while running, and a lot better cushion than my previous shoes. SO I am really back at it now for real. I have had a few false starts, and either injured or reinjured or was sick. But I have gone a few times this week and didn't really miss a beat it seems. My stamina is not where is was but, I can still run, and it still feels good. I have been doing some interval stuff to try and get my speed up and my stamina hopefully will match soon. I plan on doing some more races in 2012, maybe even a 10K by the end of the summer, but who knows.

Not a lot has changed, I have managed to keep my weight down even without a lot of working out lately, which is a good sign that my metabolism is still running higher than it has since high school. Thanks god! Especially with the Holidays coming up and all the good food, I am going to try and control myself for the first time ever! Yeah, right...

Oh well. It's all going to happen, I am going to get thinner and maybe someday see a stomach muscle, someday... Oh well, talk at ya later.
